Personal Story

My uncle Patrick is the worlds biggest prankster, to the point your guard is always up because you don’t know if you’re going to be the next victim. This time last year my family and I went to this restaurant on my brothers birthday. Since it was his birthday, they got a cake at the end of dinner, and he was sung to. Before anyone could take their first bite out of the chocolate covered, vanilla cake, my uncle sniffed the cake in front of the waitress, and he said it smelt very weird.
It was a restaurant that we always go to, so they knew what Pat was known for. The waitress had an idea what was going on, no one else did, except me, Pat and our waitress. The waitress called a friend of hers over who was extremely gullible, she sniffed the cake. Without any notice my uncle shoved the cake in her face, not hard, but enough to get her. She was so angry she wanted to kill him! As everyone was laughing, she started to realize it was actually really funny and started giggling with the crowd. Overall my brother had a good birthday!
I think this is a good story because it shows a little bit about what kind of person my uncle is, and it is pretty funny! This story has a lot of humor, and in is intriguing because the reader may want to know what happened after? Or what was coming up when he called the waitress to him!

There is a lot of things that make one individual unique. My dad got me into golf at a young age, my
brother in professionally involved with golfing. Not many of teenagers, or girls alone play the sport. Not only do I just play, I participate in tournaments and events for golfers. This makes me feel unique because I hope to pursue in it one day.
I have several goals in life that involve my academics and social life. One of them involve a class that I have at John Carroll, and that is to try my hardest on each assessment I do that deals with English. In the past English wasn’t my best subject. I hope to improve as the year progresses.
My goal for the freshman year in general is to contribute to most of events they hold, and meet new friends. A personal goal I’d like to achieve is to do more chores around my house and help my parents as much as I can. I will achieve these goals by putting forth my all my effort and time into each specific goal.

On my honor, I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this graded academic work.

The book I read this summer was called Story of a Girl was about a girl named Deanna was caught with a boy in the backseat of his car by her father, her reputation was ruined because he was four years older than her, and her brothers friend. I chose this book because when I read the title, and summary it sounded interesting, it seemed a lot more related to high school and me, than any of the other books.
I disliked the book for only one reason, it started at a weird place, I never got a full explanation of what happened. I really enjoyed it because the author wrote it really nicely, she made it a book for a teenager, not set up as an adult or a series based book. My book dealt with a freshman who made a stupid decision with a boy who had graduated. It talks about her struggles, such as her getting a job and him working there. No one fully understood where she stood, or how she felt. Only her brother, who was in struggles as well, and her best friend Jason.

My book is similar to Black and White, and Whale Talk. They both include relationship issues, in my
book it is with Deanna and her father. In Whale Talk, a father abuses his wife and kids, and the little girl was hiding with another friend to get away from her abusive family.  Lastly, it is similar to Black and White because these two guys work together to pay for their basketball stuff, they rob people with their grandfathers gun. The boy ends up shooting someone, he eventually tells the police. The boys got caught, and were punished with charges.
